Kikokushijo Academy and Salesian International School Elementary Launch After-School English Program
Bringing KA’s curriculum directly into the school environment to cultivate the ability to think, read, write, and express ideas in English from the elementary school years

Kikokushijo Academy (KA) launched an after-school English program at Salesian International School Elementary in spring 2026.
The program brings KA’s curriculum, developed through years of experience in returnee and bilingual education, directly into the school environment. Designed for both the International Class, where students learn primarily in English, and the Seibi Class, where students study primarily in Japanese, the program aims to cultivate the ability to think, read, write, and express ideas in English through structured after-school learning opportunities.
Full-Scale English Learning After School in a Convenient On-Campus Setting
A key feature of the program is that KA instructors provide in-person lessons and supervised self-study support directly on campus. Students can continue their English learning after school without traveling to outside tutoring schools or language programs, allowing English study to become a natural extension of their daily school life.
For parents, the program also provides an environment where children can engage in meaningful English learning after school while reducing the burden of transportation to external programs and lessons.
Two Programs Tailored to Students’ Learning Environment and English Proficiency
Early Years Program (Grade 1)
For Grade 1 International Class Students
Students develop foundational English skills through a balanced focus on reading, writing, and speaking, while building the ability to think and express themselves in English. In addition to weekly lessons, students receive after-school study support supervised by native-speaking instructors, helping them work on homework and English learning in an English-speaking environment. The program helps students naturally build the habit of using English as part of their school life.
Please refer to the program page for details.
Rising Stars Program (Level 1)
For Grade 1–3 Seibi Class Students
Students build core skills in phonics, vocabulary, reading, and writing, while gradually developing their English communication skills. In addition to group lessons, students receive weekly one-on-one online instruction to closely monitor their progress and provide continuous support tailored to their English level.
Please refer to the program page for details.
Students may be placed in alternative classes depending on their English proficiency and learning progress.
Online Learning to Extend English Exposure Beyond School
In addition to the on-campus program, students will also have access to the online learning platform KA Connect and online live classes through KA Plus!, creating opportunities to continue engaging with English at home.
By connecting classroom learning with everyday life, the program aims to help students integrate English naturally into their daily routines.
