Kikokushijo Academy (KA), an educational institution for returnee students and highly proficient English learners, recorded a high share of successful applicants in returnee and English-based entrance examinations at major competitive junior high schools in the Tokyo metropolitan area for the 2026 admissions cycle.

The academy’s long-standing focus on developing students’ critical thinking and expressive abilities continues to produce strong results across multiple schools.

Across seven major competitive schools, 282 of the 374 successful applicants in the relevant admissions categories were KA students, representing a 75.4% share.

Following the previous year’s results, KA has maintained a consistently high share of approximately 75%, demonstrating stable performance in returnee and English-based admissions.

Three Educational Strengths That Support Student Growth

KA’s program goes beyond test preparation. The academy emphasizes learning that develops students’ ability to think critically and express their ideas clearly, skills that continue to benefit them long after entrance examinations.

These outcomes are supported by three key educational elements. Instruction by Native English-Speaking Teachers with Deep Admissions ExpertiseTeachers who understand the entrance exam expectations at each school continuously challenge students to explain their reasoning and articulate their ideas. This approach strengthens both critical thinking and logical expression in English.

Dedicated Advisors Who Support Students Throughout the Process

From developing application strategies to providing emotional support during the examination period, KA advisors work closely with both students and families to guide them through the admissions journey.

A Community That Encourages and Supports Each Other

KA classrooms foster a warm environment where students and teachers interact closely. Conversations before and after class and during breaks create a supportive atmosphere that helps students stay motivated and continue challenging themselves.

A Shared Journey: Student Voices from the Juken Party

The Juken Party(Juken Program Graduation Celebration), held on February 22, 2026, brought together students who had completed their entrance examinations.

The event celebrates the KA community, giving students an opportunity to reconnect with classmates and teachers who supported them throughout the admissions journey and to reflect on their shared experiences.

Messages from Students (Excerpt)

“I was anxious about the Japanese entrance exam process after returning to Japan, but at KA I met classmates with similar experiences. I realized I wasn’t alone. Conversations with teachers and friends supported me just as much as the lessons, and that helped me stay positive until the end.” — Y.T.

“More than the results themselves, I feel that I gained the ability to develop my own ideas and communicate them in English. Even right before the exams, going to KA made me feel calm. It was a place where I felt, ‘If I come here, everything will be okay.’” — E.G.

“My classmates didn’t feel like competitors. We were teammates working toward the same goal. More than the day the results were announced, the moment that stays with me most is laughing together with everyone at the JUKEN PARTY.” — N.F.

Comment from the Founder

“In returnee admissions, success requires more than strong English ability. Students must be able to think independently and communicate their ideas clearly.

This year again, I am proud of the many students who worked hard and opened new paths for themselves. I hope the experiences they gained at KA will continue to support their learning and their lives well beyond their next school.”
