Press Release

Kikokushijo Academy, a Leading Brand in Returnee and English Entrance Exam Preparation, to Open Bashamichi School in July 2026

Expanding Learning Opportunities for Returnee and Bilingual Students in the Yokohama Area, Building on More Than 20 Years of Experience

Kikokushijo Academy (KA), an English education institution for returnee and bilingual students, plans to open its new Bashamichi School in July 2026 as a new learning hub in the Yokohama area.

The Bashamichi School will be located in a highly accessible area directly connected to Bashamichi Station on the Minatomirai Line, and within walking distance of both Sakuragicho Station and Kannai Station.

Since its founding in 2004, Kikokushijo Academy has supported returnee and bilingual students in maintaining and further developing their English skills, while also providing learning support with an eye toward future academic pathways. With the opening of the Bashamichi School, KA aims to further expand opportunities in the Yokohama area for students to learn, think, and express themselves in English while connecting that learning to future educational goals.

Features of the Bashamichi School

A New Hub Conveniently Accessible from Across the Yokohama Area

The Bashamichi Campus is scheduled to open in a prime location just a one-minute walk from Bashamichi Station on the Minatomirai Line. It is also accessible within a 10-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station and a 12-minute walk from Kannai Station via the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line and Yokohama Municipal Subway, providing convenient access from central Yokohama as well as the Minatomirai and Kannai areas.

Supporting Students in Further Developing Their English Proficiency

For returnee and bilingual students, maintaining and further developing the English skills acquired abroad or in international environments is often a significant challenge. Through reading, writing, speaking, and discussion-based learning, Kikokushijo Academy helps students develop the ability to think in English and express their ideas logically and effectively.

Developing Authentic English Skills Beyond Entrance Exams

KA supports students with a wide range of goals, including returnee entrance examinations, English- and global-based admissions, and preparation for Eiken and TOEFL examinations. Rather than focusing solely on short-term exam preparation, the school aims to cultivate lasting English proficiency that supports future academic learning and long-term opportunities.

Three Strengths of Kikokushijo Academy

More Than 20 Years of Experience and Teaching Expertise

Since its founding in 2004, Kikokushijo Academy has provided instruction for students from kindergarten through Grade 12. KA supports students in maintaining and improving their English skills, while also offering guidance for returnee entrance exams, English-based and global entrance exams, Eiken, TOEFL, and other academic goals.

A 100% English Environment

Not only classes, but also break times and daily communication are conducted entirely in English. Within an immersive environment similar to that of an international school abroad, students naturally develop the ability to think and express themselves in English.

Support for Learning at Home

In addition to in-person instruction, KA offers online classes six days per week to support learning at home. By helping students build consistent study habits outside the classroom, KA supports the long-term retention and development of their English skills.
